they said it

Contrary to what you may hear today in some sermons and popular religious songs,
the emphasis in the Bible is on the
holiness of God and not on the love of God.

Hmmmmmm, what does this do for all of our "Jesus is my boyfriend" worship songs? Just thinking out loud here - chime in...

I don't know that I agree with this. Jesus himself said that the greatest commandment was to love the Lord your God with your heart, soul, and mind and then to love your neighbor as yourself. If Jesus himself said that love was the of top priority, then I tend to believe Him!

I didn't see you i the congregation last week, but you must have been there.
I agree with Sandy (and Jesus and Paul)that "the most important thing" is love; however the emphasis in the Bible is not so much but is on God's holiness. (Does that sound too much like splitting hairs?) The point made by "they" whoever they were that said it is that we tend to emphasize love cause it preaches good and the way it's usually preached is "easy love" however holiness is more difficult and therefore preached less often. The host of heaven cry "Holy, holy, holy" not "Love, love, love."

AMEN! When we understand and respond to the Holiness of God we can't help but pour out our love on him.
