200 wins

was at the braves game last night for the pitching duel between john smoltz and tom glavine - masterful game by both guys (ok, smoltz was a little better because we won!)...

anyway, last night was his 200th win as a mlb pitcher - what a milestone! glavine is approaching the 300 benchmark and both guys will surely end up in cooperstown...

was thinking about it...200 wins, 300 wins - big difference - but when do the # of wins start to really determine your legacy and the mark that you leave behind...here's what i think...

i think the 'next' win is what determines your legacy and the mark you leave behind - ultimately, it's the 'next' win that matters because it's the culmination of a life of 'next wins' that propel you forward - which, btw, is where we always need to be focused...

i think if you asked either guy, they'd be thankful for the opportunities they've had, but ultimately, it's not the 200 or the 300, it's what they do in the next outing...

that's the way life is for us, we need to determine to win the next outing, the next day, the next obstacle...life is full of 'wins' and 'losses' - choose to focus on the 'next win' and quickly forget the 'last loss'
